THE CHALLENGER
People of type Eight are self-assured, strong, and assertive. They are protective, resourceful, direct, and determined, but they can also be egocentric and dominant. Eights feel the need to control their environment, especially people, and can sometimes become confrontational and intimidating. They often struggle with their temper and find it difficult to allow themselves to be vulnerable.
At their best: they practice self-mastery and use their strength to improve the lives of others, becoming heroic, magnanimous, and inspiring.
At their worst: they can become controlling, aggressive, confrontational, and domineering.
Examples: G.I. Gurdjieff, Richard Wagner, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Oskar Schindler, Fidel Castro, Martin Luther King Jr., Lyndon Johnson, Mikhail Gorbachev, Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi, Saddam Hussein, Senator John McCain, Donald Trump, Pablo Picasso.
